Students of the István Hatvani College of the University of Debrecen at the DAB Headquarters in Debrecen shared their scientific research results with their peers and supervisors. 28 lectures were given at the Semester Scientific Student Conference.

The University and National Library of the University of Debrecen (DEENK) organized a commemoration on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the birth of István Csűry. The former director-general of the library was remembered in a roundtable discussion with lectures at the event on December 2.

In addition to its international success, the University of Debrecen aims to provide its students with high-quality knowledge and diplomas through long-term sustainable operations, said György Kossa, Chairman of the Board of the István Gróf Tisza Foundation for the University of Debrecen in the M5 Libretto program.

The new antidiabetic product, developed by researchers at the University of Debrecen in consortium with industry partners, was presented at the end of the project. The dietary supplement is scheduled to go on sale as early as next year.

According to an internal survey at the end of November, the University of Debrecen is in an outstandingly good position in terms of employee and student vaccination rates and infection rates. More than 92 percent of workers have been vaccinated against the coronavirus, and many have already received the third vaccine.

The examination period started for almost 30,000 Hungarian and foreign students at the University of Debrecen when all the students studying at the faculties can give an account of the knowledge acquired during the autumn semester.

Agricultural and food biotechnology was the central topic of this year’s biotechnology scientific symposium at the University of Debrecen. The meeting will present the latest scientific results of biotechnology research at the university in a hybrid meeting.

The University of Debrecen ranks 25th in the thematic, Eastern European ranking of SCImago Institutions Rankings. UD precedes such renowned institutions in the field of energy as Lomonosov University in Moscow, Jagiellonian University in Poland, and Charles University in the Czech Republic.

The situation of women, their career opportunities, and the balance between work and private life were discussed at a “sofa-discussion” at the Faculty of Economics and Business of the University of Debrecen, which was attended by three successful companies executives from Debrecen.
