As a local news portal has informed, a series of thefts has been committed in the past few days on InterCity trains on the Budapest-Debrecen line.

On Wednesday, the Debrecen Court of Appeal acting on the second instance pronounced those two men guilty of lethal assault who, back in 2005, beat up and kicked a middle-aged man so bad that he died of his injuries 3 months later.

Since the new law came into force in 2010, the cases related to offense against property have increased by five times. Since August 2012, courts might look into the cases involving damages under 20.000 forints and the perpetrators might be punished with imprisonment. 

A truck and trailer combination hit a cyclist from behind. The cyclist got injured badly.

 “My other workmates warned me: “Be careful, he’s got a knife!”Then I pulled my clothing apart and saw that the blood was pouring out of me.”

The two men were hiding on a train and were discovered by the conductor.

The Debrecen Department of Police started a criminal procedure against a 22-year old man for robbery and document abuse. The man had come to Debrecen to collect some garbage.
