A reservist soldier demonstrated exemplary presence of mind and dedication when a young, bleeding man cried out for help in downtown Debrecen.

In May, Debrecen will continue its free sports programs supporting the social inclusion of people with disabilities. Coordinated by the municipality, these events provide experience-based physical activity opportunities at multiple locations throughout the city.

The Green Sentinel (Zöld Őrszem) environmental monitoring system has been established and has begun operations in Debrecen, as announced at a conference presenting the system on Wednesday at the HUN-REN Institute for Nuclear Research.

András Kuhn – chief gardener of Debrecen – has won the Landscape Architect of the Year award, presented for the 13th time. The public choice award went to Anna Eplényi, while the Junior Landscape Architect of the Year title was awarded to Evelin Hajdu, according to an announcement by organizer Wienerberger Zrt. via MTI.

New play equipment has been installed in the fenced park. Landscaping is also planned for the area so that children can play in the shade during the summer heat. The development was implemented with nearly 33 million forints in municipal funding.
