The Assembly of the City of Debrecen has chosen a new deputy mayor to replace the recently resigned Janos Halasz deputy mayor on 8th of July.
Janos Halasz resigned on July 2because he became the parliamentary secretary of the Ministry of National Resources.
Bela Somogyi, the president of the Cultural Committee was the chosen one. He used to be the deputy mayor for cultural affairs from 1998 to 2002.
He doesn’t know yet if he will continue his new job after the local elections in the Autumn. One thing is sure: there will be less council member in the Assembly.
