The average gross monthly earnings of full-time employees in Hungary reached HUF 754,700 in June, while average net earnings stood at HUF 529,700, the Hungarian Central Statistical Office (KSH) reported.
Average gross earnings were 7.1 percent higher than a year earlier, while average net earnings increased by 9.4 percent and real earnings by 7.6 percent.
The median gross earnings were HUF 617,900, while median net earnings reached HUF 438,000, representing annual increases of 8.8 percent and 10.9 percent, respectively.
Compared with May, average gross earnings fell by HUF 9,339, while average net earnings decreased by HUF 6,137.
KSH noted that the faster growth in average net earnings was partly due to an expansion of family tax benefits and tax allowances affecting mothers.
Excluding bonuses, premiums and one-off payments, regular average gross earnings amounted to HUF 708,600, up 7.9 percent year-on-year. Regular average gross earnings reached HUF 700,800 in the business sector, HUF 717,600 in the budgetary sector and HUF 757,600 in the nonprofit sector.
In June, average gross earnings stood at HUF 788,000 in manufacturing, HUF 613,000 in construction and HUF 589,000 in agriculture. The monthly average was HUF 1.204 million in telecommunications and information technology, and HUF 1.181 million in the financial and insurance sector.
During the first half of the year, average gross earnings increased by 11.5 percent to HUF 772,800, while average net earnings rose by 13.7 percent to HUF 541,200 compared with the same period last year.
