New Dean To Lead The Faculty of Child Education And Special Needs Education
Since 1 July, the head of the Faculty of Child Education and Special Needs Education has been Erzsébet Gortka-Rákó. She is planning to improve the international relations of the faculty, to start programmes in foreign languages, and broaden the range of courses.
Breakthrough in the Study of Fragmentation
With the involvement of physicists working at the UD, researchers have proved several assumptions of Plato, the ancient philosopher. Ferenc Kun and his associates have proved that any fracture or cracking creates cube-shaped objects. The results of their research have been published in PNAS.
International Recognition
The Federation of European Chemical Societies has granted the title “Chemistry Europe Fellow” to Ferenc Joó, professor emeritus of the Faculty of Science and Technology of UD. He received the award from the president of the Hungarian Chemical Society on Friday.
New Horizons in Genomics
As many as 10 parallel or simultaneous whole-genome sequencing processes can be implemented cost-effectively through the application of the new high-capacity DNA sequencing equipment that has been installed recently to operate at Genomic Medicine and Bioinformatics Core Facility of the UD.
